Even if a mother is raped this tragedy does not give her the right to murder an innocent child. Every abortion stops a real heartbeat and measurable brainwaves. This women does not deserve to be punished for anything but what about the child? The are thousands of parents wanting to adopt a child of their own.

To the person who wrote that if the mother gives birth to the baby conceived through a rape. The person believes that the mother would be punished. I respect your perspective, and when focusing on the mother's point of view, you are correct. I have looked at pictures of aborted fetuses, most as young as only a few weeks. The major organs especially the heart and brain are formed and functioning. To make an informed decision, the mother must look at a sonogram, and pictures of aborted fetuses, and read the stories of men and women who have endured abortions ( Rachael's Vineyard web link).However, the baby would be eliminated for the crime of his father. Is it too much to ask that the mother focus on the baby's chance to live, then give him/her up for adoption?

Should abortion be done if the pregnancy results from forcible rape?
The simple, most direct answer is “should we kill an innocent baby for the crime of his father?”
Or, another way of saying it, “We don't punish other criminals by killing their children, do we?

Also to add, why is it that abortion is just called abortion? if a man takes a gun and shoots and kills a pregnant women he is charged with double homicide. Why? because it is murder, killing a child is wrong. yes we must respect the rights of women but when she would we give the right for one human to end a another human's life?

Some people see a fetus as an unborn human, and everyone sees a pregnant woman as someone who should be protected, therefore the law (in the US only, I believe) accomodates this belief if somebody kills the mother and unborn baby they have killed two people.
This doesn't mean that there are others who do not share this belief, and it's a ridiculous argument against abortion. Many people also don't see a fetus as a human, and abortion is allowed, by law, to accomodate the beliefs of this very large portion of the community
