Few late term babies are aborted right? Wrong. CDC reports 8,000 to 10,000 per year.

No one will dispute that most abortions occur in the first trimester thus, many doctors perform only first trimester abortions or almost all first trimester abortions. HOWEVER:

According to the United States Center for Disease control (http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/ss5212a1.htm) in a survey of only 37 of the 50 states.

In the year 2000:

71,553 abortions were performed at 13-21+ weeks of gestation.

8,826 of these occurred at 21+ weeks.

A 21 week baby may be killed on one floor of a hospital because he is "unwanted" while on the next floor down a wanted 21 week premature baby is saved by medical intervention because she is "wanted."

Many use the excuse that these abortions are done for medical reasons. But abortion is not safer than birth. No one is saying that a woman at 21 weeks who has been in an accident or who is diagnosed with a possible fatal disease should be forced to carry her baby and risk death (though I know many women who would) but why not remove the baby and try to save him or her instead of killing the child by abortion? This is insane. Yes, the chances of survival are much slimmer for a 5 month baby than a 9 month baby but at least the little human would be given a chance!

Also, many of the babies killed at this stage have been diagnosed with Down syndrome, spina bifida, or other such diseases. This is eugenics at it's prime.

What is the difference of killing this premature baby inside the womb or outside? Would we condone infanticide or childhood murder of these babies?

If the American public knew that more than 8,826 babies outside the womb were killed every year, there would be an outrage! If one child dies of lead poisoning it makes the national news. Why doesn't aborting late term babies bother us? I think many people do not realize abortion's reality.
