Quantum leaps!

'The finest emotion of which we are capable is the mystic emotion. Herein lies the germ of all art and all true science.'
Albert Einstein
Whereas before I sought the answers to life's great questions in religious or mystical teachings, I am now drawn to certain scientists who are increasingly becoming more mystical than the mystics! I am referring to the extraordinary theorists of quantum mechanics.
I thought I would throw out a couple of simplified propositions to get the discussion ball rolling, and hopefully we can also build a dialogue with those far more qualified and informed than me to help deal with questions arising from the site, in our guest speaker section.
Light particles can communicate!
So what I hear you cry! It has been shown that Light particles change their state when observed, and they are able to communicate these changes to other light particles over huge distances simultaneously. This means at some level they are intelligent and perhaps conscious!
If this is the case for light particles, it is likely to be the case for other sub-atomic particles, some of which have already been identified.
If we apply this to our mortality, as matter cannot be destroyed (it merely changes it's state) it suggests that the consciousness that clearly exists at a sub-atomic level cannot be destroyed either. And this must also apply to the sub-atomic particles that make up our own conscious nature. That’s you and me.
So does this mean when we die our consciousness is not lost? That perhaps much more of us survives death than current science understands? If when we die we simply change our state, then into what? Where do we then exist?
This impacts on all of us because we all have, or will lose a loved one, and it would be comforting to know what happens to them, and indeed ourselves.
Perhaps this is where quantum theories will take us, into a greater understanding of other states of being which exist alongside our own. States that the mystics have told us exist, but for which they cannot provide evidence that is acceptable to our current measurement of proof.
These states may well explain the after life conditions which will help us to understand the concept of ghosts and spirits, experiences that have been present in all cultures throughout man’s history?
If light particles can communicate at a distance, perhaps the theories being developed to understand this may also help us to understand phenomenon we have all experienced such as telepathy. And the phenomenon that is common to those who have had a near death experience, where they report being drawn to 'the light'. If consciousness can be contained within a particle of light, (although other behaviours and laws for larger matter is different), what consciousness can be contained within a pencil of light, a beam of light, or even an effulgence of light?
For me, one of the most significant impacts of looking into all this is, it seems to produce an almost mystical effect, of living in one world whilst observing another, and that through this science we may be evolving the ability to sense in more than one world, similar to the way that perhaps clairvoyants and other sensitive experience reality. This is an extraordinary thought regarding human development.
So over the next few weeks we will be looking at the impact, and asking questions about the implications of this new science of quantum discoveries on our understanding of life, the universe, and our everyday lives
These are exciting times so it would be great to hear your thoughts, experiences and views.
