HI Cicero! Up till now I have always believed in global warming, but after reading this i am not quite so sure
I stopped doing science when i was 16, and you could tell me any scientific mambo jumbo and i now wouldn't be able to tell my ions from my nucleus.
I can only say this; personally i have noticed a great change in the weather over the past 30 years it seems persistent, as far as i am aware in recent memory, at least for the time that weather records have been kept for the past 400 years, this hotter weather is persistent and remarkable for the fact that the AVERAGE mean temperature has been creeping up. While you may talk about "record cold" is this statistically significant ? last week a piece of the Antarctic Ice shelf has fallen off much sooner than many Scientists had predicted. If the cold weather you talk of were to continue for an appreciable length of time say 10 years, then i might start to doubt and start saying "global warming what global warming", but not until then.
In the meantime there are a great many scientists saying they believe in Global Warming., if you don't believe, just google the name "Al Gore", it will lead you to some interesting stuff. There will also always be minority opinion, but until something really convincing and big turns up, I will continue to believe these scientific guys when they talk about "global warming". But I would really love to see here on Cicero some scientists say, hi my name is x my expertize is y and my belief about the weather is z.
