What’s wrong with America?
Says cicero on March 25, 2008
As we approach the moment when we elect our next president, it seems like a good time to look at the state of our great nation.
Governments don’t fix themselves! Isn’t it time we all work together to identify what is wrong with America and come up with some ways to fix it?
Whilst the government is able to regulate corporations, there will always be those that benefit or are hindered by legislation that restricts free trade. Shouldn’t the government be focussed on fixing education, the environment, health care, national defense etc, rather than interfering with business? And aren’t the corporations capable of regulating themselves?
It seems impossible for any government to remain neutral in setting legislation for corporations which are their source for campaign contributions! We have no-bid contracts, unregulated procurement, privatized elections, and the largest bureaucracy in American history!
Maybe it’s time we had more than a 2 parties to vote for? More choice in policies? More debate about the fundamental social issues that affect all of us.
So what do you feel is wrong? And how do we fix it?
Cicero
